With the abundance of natural gas in the United States, power plants have converted their energy source from coal to natural gas, thus reducing the domestic supply of fly ash. This caused fly ash prices to rise and supply to decrease, forcing Silvi Materials to find an alternative sustainable cement substitute. Silvi Materials searched and tested slag products from all over the world to find the high-quality slag that met U.S. standards. Silvi Slag has been tested and proven in Silvi Concrete's mix designs, helping to make concrete strengths in excess of 18,000psi. Slag can also be used as an everyday replacement for cement to reduce carbon footprint, improve concrete consistency, and mitigate Alkali-Silica Reaction (ASR). Silvi Slag is stored in a 35,000-ton dome at our import facility in Bristol, PA, which is accessible for pickup 24/7, 365 days out of the year.
