Our Bristol, PA, marina is located directly on the Delaware River. With a water depth of 38.5 feet, a dock length of 865 feet, and an air draft of 112 feet, the marina routinely berths and unloads Ultramax bulk carriers with a maximum deadweight tonnage of 55,000 metric tons. Cement can be unloaded at a rate of 8,000 tons per day, while aggregates including salt, gypsum, and fertilizers can be unloaded at a rate of 10,000 tons per day. In addition, the marina can berth barges simultaneously. Using our SENNEBOGEN 870 material handler, we can unload aggregates from barges at a rate of 3,000 tons per day.

Silvi Marina Bristol also operates as a rail terminal served by Conrail, facilitating Norfolk Southern and CSX direct shipments. We own 100 covered hopper rail cars and lease approximately 30 more. The marina can hold over 80 rail cars on-site and is equipped to load and unload any type of rail car. Using our fleet of bottom dump cars, pneumatic cars, and a pair of mobile rail car unloaders, we currently ship cement and slag across the United States from our on-site 165,000-metric-ton storage domes.
Barge Shipping
The combination of our facilities and equipment at Silvi Marina Bristol—including an 865-foot dock, a Sennebogen material handler, and a THOR stacker—allows us to efficiently load and unload aggregates onto barges. The marina’s layout provides flexible loading options, enabling us to load a barge directly from a bulk carrier or from our extensive stockpiles on land.

Sitting on 68 acres of land, Silvi Marina Bristol offers extensive tarped and open-air storage. For items that require more protection from the elements, our on-site warehouse provides secure accommodation. Additionally, Silvi offers build-to-suit storage solutions to our customers if needed.

Silvi employs a robust technical services team and equips them with the latest testing tools. At Silvi Marina Bristol, we analyze all incoming cementitious materials and aggregates for their physical and chemical properties in our state-of-the-art laboratory. This ensures that our materials meet the highest quality standards. If needed, Silvi also offers these services to third-party customers.

Cement:
We import premium Type I/II low alkali cement with a high Blaine, ensuring enhanced early-age hydration and strength for our mix designs. Cement is available for pickup or delivery via truck or rail car. Learn more about our cement here.

Our Grade 100 slag is ideal for producing concrete mixes with strengths exceeding 18,000 psi. Stored in a 35,000-metric-ton dome at Silvi Marina Bristol, it is available for pickup or delivery by cement tanker or rail car. Discover more about our slag here.
